Sonic Youth Pioneer Thurston Moore To Return To Australia This December
He redefined modern music as the co-founder of seminal New York City no wave four-piece Sonic Youth. Now, to coincide with his appearance at this year's Meredith Music Festival, Thurston Moore will return to Antipodean shores this December along with his full band for an east coast tour.
Recorded with guitarist James Sedwards, ex-My Bloody Valentine bassist Debbie Googe, and Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, The Best Day (out now through Matador Records/Remote Control) is Moore’s most recent longplayer – a record defined by positivity and radical love. Check out the title track here:
While on stage in Australia the gang will be performing tracks from The Best Day as well as older favourites, including much-loved Sonic Youth songs - meaning fans will get their first chance to see Moore and Shelley on stage together since the group’s final Daydream Nation tour back in 2007.
